Plugin Updates 166~

Apparently, I forgot to upload the Item Upgrades Slots update last time… orz.

The Item Core has an update the fixes a disconnect which may mix up together Weapon ID’s with Armor ID’s if they have the same base ID. This update should get that cleared up. The Equip Requirements plugin had a bug in it that would crash the game that I couldn’t replicate but tried to fix. Whether or not the bug is fully fixed, I’m unsure of, so be sure to let me know if something comes up.

Plugin Preview~

We have a plugin preview for this week! 😀 Hope you look forward to it!~

Plugin Updates 164~

Happy May, everybody! There’s a couple of plugin updates tonight.

The Core Engine gets an optimization update. What’s going on here is that while testing a few things on browser today, I noticed lag in even empty projects. While not the worst of lag, it could be fixed a bit better. Turns out that some of the loops being used by default in RPG Maker MV are some of the more memory intensive loops so those have been replaced by more efficient ones. Let’s hope this turns out for better~

The Battle Engine Core and Equip Requirements get a couple of bug fixes. They weren’t even really things I’ve noticed, but if they happen, they’ll have to get fixed. Let’s hope this update takes care of them.

Games that use the YEP_X_ItemUpgradeSlots, YEP_X_ItemDurability, and YEP_X_AttachAugment plugins may notice that it’s not too intuitive to modify items from the item menu when they’re equipped to the actors in the equip menu. This plugin will add a “Customize” option to the Equip menu that will function as a shortcut to the Item menu for quick customization access.  Continue reading

Plugin Updates 163~

The Limited Skill Uses plugin gets an update to the documentation on an incorrect categorization for a Lunatic Mode effect. This documentation is now updated properly.

The Buffs & States Core gets a big update for Lunatic Mode users. States are now able to display counters. State Counters are newly added features to suplement states. They are used purely in custom manners, which means they do not serve any function by themselves. State Counters can be used to note a number of stacks, a stored percentage, display a message, etc. All of it is purely updated based on JavaScript functions. You can find out more information about them in the help file!

Tips & Tricks – Damage Over Time Stacking – RPG Maker MV

Yanfly Engine Plugins is a plugin library made for RPG Maker MV, a wonderful piece of software to help you make that role playing game of your dreams. You can find out more about RPG Maker MV here.

Damage Over Time (DOT) can be done easily with RPG Maker MV itself. However, Damage Over Time Stacking is much harder to do. As a popular mechanic found in MMORPG’s, it’s no surprise that it’d find inspiration to be used in traditional RPG’s either. This Tips & Tricks video will show to recreate this effect in RPG Maker MV!

Plugin Updates 162~

The Equip Core has an update. It added an actor refresh upon listing the various equip slots to ensure that all slots are updated in case any cache’d instances may have been missed. This is so that any instance that would prompt a change in an actor’s being without causing a refresh (such as changing a switch) that may influence other factors (such as passives) will be kept up to date.

Sometimes, there are items that are simply not useful to the player anymore. In that case, why not give players the option to break down the item into something a little bit more useful? Using this plugin, players can break down and disassemble items, weapons, and armors into something else. Using different types of disassemblers, the player can get different types of items back, too.

The two class plugins today get new features added to it. There are new notetags and plugin commands that lock an actor from being able to change classes and/or subclasses inside of the class menu. However, changing classes is still possible through the event command. Look inside of the help file for the respective plugins for more info!~ The Battle A.I. Core gets a bug fixed that caused choosing the highest TP value to result in a crash. This is now fixed~

Plugin Updates 160~

A couple of updates tonight. The Class Base parameter plugin gets a bug fix that causes EXP formulas to not function as intended. Hopefully, they should be working now. The Extended Message Pack 1 plugin now has the script calls and plugin commands that alter the show choices to be linked to their switches if the switches are assigned. This is for anyone who decides to use the switches as in-game reference. The Equip Core gets an anti-crash measure added to it for those who aren’t using the Item Core in conjunction with it. The Row Formation plugin gets a fix that didn’t have the “user” usable variable inside one of the Lunatic Mode notetags.
