New Changes~ && Plugin Updates 105~

bunnyfaint

A couple of new changes have been made to the website. Most of which is just to streamline things a bit for me.

Comments on Yanfly.moe will be disabled for now. This is mostly because I’m a single person taking care of support for literally thousands of users. Having to jump back and forth between Yanfly.moe, RPG Maker Web, Youtube, Patreon, etc. makes it extremely hard to keep track of things let alone post reports where they need to go. So, that said, in place of the comments, you’ll see these:

reportabug

actionsequencehelp

dropacomment

There will also be quick link versions of these on Yanfly.moe’s sidebar.

All of them lead to RPG Maker Web’s forum, the official forum for RPG Maker MV, where I’m active at. There, I can keep the reports together (for at least this website and the forum) and reduce the amount of mix up possible. Having nearly 70 plugins to look over means 70+ pages of comments to keep track of and that’s a bit much for me, a single person. If you don’t have an account there, I would recommend signing up for one anyway since it’s a very helpful forum with a wonderful community. It would be just as much a benefit for you as a benefit for me to have an account there.

So hopefully, this way can keep the support all in one place. 🙂

Thank you for understanding!

A couple of updates today. Since it’s been asked a lot, Job Points is now updated to give you the option of enabling dead actors to gain JP from battle or not. Keep in mind this will only affect the JP earned from defeating enemies, and it does not apply to the JP earned from actions. Steal & Snatch has an update as well to make descriptions work with word wrap for the Snatch window.

YEP.68 – Smart Jump

Yanfly Engine Plugins is a plugin library made for RPG Maker MV, a wonderful piece of software to help you make that role playing game of your dreams. You can find out more about RPG Maker MV here.

You can grab the plugin here:

English Mirror

For those that may have made their own Jump system before with events, you may have come across the problem of being able to jump off the map, into places you’re not supposed to go, or even on top of events that shouldn’t be allowed to go on top of. This plugin helps faciliate eventing a Jump system for your RPG Maker game by introducing Smart Jumps.

Smart Jumps will allow you to jump over areas, but will limit you from jumping on top of places you can’t go, on top of normal priority events, and set up boundaries (such as walls) that you normally cannot jump past.

NOTE: For users saying that Smart Jumps bypass On Touch Events and Poison Tiles, they do not. This is not a bug but rather the way events work. Depending on how long you set the wait time after a Smart Jump, it may bypass an ontouch event or not. I found the ideal wait time is 15 frames after a Smart Jump effect. You would encounter the same “problem” with events if you don’t time it right.

Here’s a snap of it working:

UzJrVrw

It’s all about the way you set up your events.

Yanfly Engine Plugins is a plugin library made for RPG Maker MV, a wonderful piece of software to help you make that role playing game of your dreams. You can find out more about RPG Maker MV here.

You can grab the plugin here:

This plugin requires the Skill Core plugin and enables a Party Limit Gauge for both the player party and the enemy party. These gauges will fill up or decrease depending on what actions take place. The amounts they raise can be adjusted within the plugin’s parameters to your liking. Once a party has enough of the Party Limit Gauge, members from that party can use it as a skill resource to unleash powerful actions in battle!

Add-Ons

Party Limit Gauge Vertical Mode – by Waterguy
As the name says, a small expansion to Yanfly’s Party Limit Gauge that lets you use it as a vertical gauge.
Gauge width is the usual gauge height, that can be changed with Yanfly’s CoreEngine.

Tutorial: Undertale Boss Spare System && Plugin Updates 102

Our friend SumRndmDde has made a neat little tutorial on how to do a Spare system. Seeing as how this is an extremely popularly requested “system” asked about across my website, my Youtube channel, and RPG Maker Web, a lot of people don’t realize that the entirity of Undertale’s spare system in RPG Maker would be based off of a series of common events. Do take a look and check out the video! 🙂

A couple of updates tonight, three of which are optimization updates to make the game run a bit smoother when using these plugins. As for the Skill Core, a bug fix was made to patch up an oversight where Immortal Actors at 0 HP couldn’t use skills because they couldn’t fulfill the HP cost requirement of 0. This was an oversight of mine because in order to use HP cost skills, a character must always have more than the said HP cost. Normally, users would rarely encounter this problem provided that not all of their battlers are immortal, but sometimes, it just happens to be the case. This latest update should get that fixed~

Vibrato Tutorial Part 3 && Plugin Updates 98~

Vibrato’s tutorial part 3 is out on how to make super awesome looking super special attacks with a super awesome looking super special tutorial! …did I get that right? Well, let’s hope I did. XD

A couple of plugins got updates tonight. One of them addresses the Extended Message Pack 1, where using \! in an auto-fitted message would cause it to pause before text is displayed and the other is a reset to the Letter Sound interval whenever \., \|, and \w[x] text codes are used. Enemy Levels also got a bug fix for something that slipped under the radar for me while testing. Enjoy! 😀

Plugin Updates 97~

bunnymassage

A fix was made for the Weapon Animation plugin to work with the Animated Sideview Enemies plugin. 😀 Class Change Core had a new update to it where the Change Actor Image event will give priority over class image changes for sprites, faces, and battlers. If you’re running a saved game, this won’t take effect retroactively, but anything past the updated version of the plugin in a loaded game will take effect. Enemy Levels now have a <Ignore Level Bonus> notetag. This causes enemies to maintain their current level but ignore any bonus stats applied by the level difference. If the enemy’s level is altered, its stats remain static and unchanging. Those are the updates for tonight! 😀
