Plugin Updates 112~

bunny_smooch

Happy Valentines, everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful day!

Tonight’s update is a small one, although it fixes a few issues with the Absorption Barrier plugin. There was a bug that prevented Barrier Points from being gained at the start of battle, while another issue was one that made self-barrier casts end almost instantly on the account that the user suffers getting next to no Absorption Barrier. This issue will fixed on the same scale of the Action End effect where if the target is the user itself, the user will get a “free turn” for the barrier.

YEP.70 – Absorption Barrier – RPG Maker MV

Yanfly Engine Plugins is a plugin library made for RPG Maker MV, a wonderful piece of software to help you make that role playing game of your dreams. You can find out more about RPG Maker MV here.

You can grab the plugin here:

English Mirror

The Absorption Barrier is a new mechanic added for battle. Barrier Points, a new type of stat, provide a layer of protection for battlers. Any direct damage that would normally be done to HP would be dealt to the battler’s Barrier Points first, mitigating any real damage dealt to the battler. Any remaining damage is then dealt to the battler.

Plugin Updates 110~

Whew! A couple of bug fixes today! The Core Engine gets a fix for a rather less used Notetag. The Battle Engine Core underwent a few updates in the past, but made some overrides towards the Animated Sideview Enemies’ customized death motions. This should fix that. The Skill Learn System gets a small change for level requirements that would make more sense. Have fun!

The values for the Extra Parameters: HIT, EVA, CRI, CEV, MEV, MRF, CNT, HRG, MRG, and TRG, in RPG Maker MV are only able to be ever modified by traits by the various database objects. While it is flexible, RPG Maker MV does not enable you to utilize custom formulas to make things such as ATK and AGI influence HIT rate or LUK influence CRItical hits. With this plugin, now you can along with a few more goodies!

Plugin Updates 109~

bunnypuppy

A decent sized-update today. The Battle Engine Core’s newest feature, free Action End turns, gets a failsafe added to it. This failsafe is to prevent any crashing from occurring if you’re using any non-Yanfly Engine Plugins that may have overwritten some core functions of the battle system. A bug fix is made to Armor Scaling that prevented negative scaling from working properly. And finally, the Steal & Snatch plugin has a new parameter added to add a wait time after a steal effect as a convenience for those not using action sequences to add in wait time. Have fun with the newest updates! 😀

Plugin Updates 108~

bec131

Quite a few updates tonight! The Battle Engine Core instated a new mechanic for states that expire on Action End. States with Action End now have a unique trait to them where if the caster of the state is the current active battler (subject) and if the state is then applied on the user itself, they will gain a ‘free turn’. The ‘free turn’ is to mitigate the user from losing 1 duration of the turn since with an Action End timing, they would lose the benefit of being under the state for that turn’s timing.

As for the Message Core, it and the Extended Message Pack 1 have both been updated to work around the font size changing text codes such as \{ and \} to work better with the autoheight function of the Extended Message Pack 1. This also gets around MV’s default issue with pushing messages into the next message if there isn’t enough room vertically to fit the message.

equipcore109

The Equip Core gains a new quality of life update. For those that are using the Equip Core, the Item Core, and the Item Core’s New Scene Layout, you’ll gain access to the Item Info Window within the Equip Core as well. Pressing Left/Right/Tab will toggle between the windows. Clicking on the lower right window will also toggle the windows. This way, players don’t have to switch back and forth between the Item scene and Equip scene to see what kinds of information is displayed on the Item Info Window.

A couple of bug fixes are made to the Party Limit Gauge and Instant Cast, too. The Party Limit Gauge now disappears when the battle HUD vanishes, too. The Instant Cast plugin now has an update that fixes a rather specific instance where if the user is to berserk, charm, or confuse itself with an instant action, it would still be able to choose an action to input.

And that’s it for tonight’s updates~

New Changes~ && Plugin Updates 105~

bunnyfaint

A couple of new changes have been made to the website. Most of which is just to streamline things a bit for me.

Comments on Yanfly.moe will be disabled for now. This is mostly because I’m a single person taking care of support for literally thousands of users. Having to jump back and forth between Yanfly.moe, RPG Maker Web, Youtube, Patreon, etc. makes it extremely hard to keep track of things let alone post reports where they need to go. So, that said, in place of the comments, you’ll see these:

reportabug

actionsequencehelp

dropacomment

There will also be quick link versions of these on Yanfly.moe’s sidebar.

All of them lead to RPG Maker Web’s forum, the official forum for RPG Maker MV, where I’m active at. There, I can keep the reports together (for at least this website and the forum) and reduce the amount of mix up possible. Having nearly 70 plugins to look over means 70+ pages of comments to keep track of and that’s a bit much for me, a single person. If you don’t have an account there, I would recommend signing up for one anyway since it’s a very helpful forum with a wonderful community. It would be just as much a benefit for you as a benefit for me to have an account there.

So hopefully, this way can keep the support all in one place. 🙂

Thank you for understanding!

A couple of updates today. Since it’s been asked a lot, Job Points is now updated to give you the option of enabling dead actors to gain JP from battle or not. Keep in mind this will only affect the JP earned from defeating enemies, and it does not apply to the JP earned from actions. Steal & Snatch has an update as well to make descriptions work with word wrap for the Snatch window.

YEP.68 – Smart Jump

Yanfly Engine Plugins is a plugin library made for RPG Maker MV, a wonderful piece of software to help you make that role playing game of your dreams. You can find out more about RPG Maker MV here.

You can grab the plugin here:

English Mirror

For those that may have made their own Jump system before with events, you may have come across the problem of being able to jump off the map, into places you’re not supposed to go, or even on top of events that shouldn’t be allowed to go on top of. This plugin helps faciliate eventing a Jump system for your RPG Maker game by introducing Smart Jumps.

Smart Jumps will allow you to jump over areas, but will limit you from jumping on top of places you can’t go, on top of normal priority events, and set up boundaries (such as walls) that you normally cannot jump past.

NOTE: For users saying that Smart Jumps bypass On Touch Events and Poison Tiles, they do not. This is not a bug but rather the way events work. Depending on how long you set the wait time after a Smart Jump, it may bypass an ontouch event or not. I found the ideal wait time is 15 frames after a Smart Jump effect. You would encounter the same “problem” with events if you don’t time it right.

Here’s a snap of it working:

UzJrVrw

It’s all about the way you set up your events.

Plugin Updates 104~

A couple of updates tonight. The Battle Engine Core now has it possible for you to use Text Codes with <CENTER> lines for the battle log when making skill quotes. The Party Limit Gauge has a few updates to it including some visual bug fixes. Snatch & Steal has an update to the steal text parameter to show icons of the items that are being stolen. And the Gab Window has an update that prevented Forced Gabs to not work properly when using text codes. Enjoy!~
