YEP.107 – Element Core – RPG Maker MV

You can grab the plugin here:

English Mirror

Elemental control in RPG Maker MV is pretty lacking. The calculation of how multiple elements are handled aren’t very clear nor are they too intuitive when it comes to certain aspects. This plugin also gives way to skills and items having more than one element, battlers being able to absorb, reflect, amplify elemental damage, and more!

NOTE: If you are using the Element Reflect and/or Element Absorb plugins, remove them if you are planning on using this plugin. Don’t worry. This plugin uses the same exact notetag format as those two.

Plugin Updates 180~

Quite a few plugin updates tonight. Some are fixes, others new feature additions. The Save Core gets a bug fix that caused the names of actors used in the save file to appear as their default name in the save menu even if in the save file, the name was changed. The Battle Engine Core gets an update for it. If another plugin enters a special menu while inside a battle and there aren’t any battlebacks, it will not take a snapshot of the current battlers. Animated Sideview Enemies gets a fix that caused icons to appear at the base of the enemies if users aren’t using Action Sequence Pack 2. Auto Passive States gets an update that allows it to check the passive conditions of various states without conflicting with other passives. The Event Mini Label gets two new parameters added to it: Added ‘Diagonal Range’ plugin parameter to allow you to decide if a player is considered to be within range counting diagonal tiles from the event or traditional distance and added ‘Side Facing’ plugin parameter to let you decide if a player is considered to be facing the event if the player is adjacent to the event.

Plugin Updates 178~

A couple of plugin bug fixes! The Battle Engine Core, Battle Select Cursor, and Target Core all have updates that now prevent dead enemies from suddenly reappearing again (hopefully). Action Sequence Pack 2 gets an update to it. Battle Animations set to the “Feet” of a battler will now play at a floating and/or jumping battler’s sprite base. This is to prevent them from looking weird when playing a sweeping animation on a floating/jumping target and having the animation follow them as they fly up and down. Picture Common Events gets a slight update. When disabling Mouse Movement, it will also disable Mouse Canceling on the map to prevent accidental opening of the Main Menu.

Plugin Updates 176~

A number of plugins got updated today. Mostly as anti-crash measures for users that don’t have something tied to each setting or settings that are being made midway throughout battle. The Target Core update takes care of some visual effects that weren’t showing properly, and Selection Control’s Disperse Damage effect now occurs before damage capping as long as it is placed under Damage Core on the plugin list.

Plugin Updates 175~

Action Sequence Pack 2 and Animated Sideview Enemies get reworked a bit to have state icons and state overlays to work more intuitive. Because the default nature of RPG Maker MV never intended for battlers to be jumping at one another, let alone floating, the positioning of the state icons and state overlays stayed at a consistent height. This update makes it so that if your battler is jumping/floating, the icons will travel with you.

Plugin Updates 109~

bunnypuppy

A decent sized-update today. The Battle Engine Core’s newest feature, free Action End turns, gets a failsafe added to it. This failsafe is to prevent any crashing from occurring if you’re using any non-Yanfly Engine Plugins that may have overwritten some core functions of the battle system. A bug fix is made to Armor Scaling that prevented negative scaling from working properly. And finally, the Steal & Snatch plugin has a new parameter added to add a wait time after a steal effect as a convenience for those not using action sequences to add in wait time. Have fun with the newest updates! 😀

We have yet another tutorial from Vibrato on how to make amazing looking action sequences! If you haven’t seen other works made by Vibrato, do check them out!

Today we have a couple of updates. One is for the Battle Engine Core, which fixes an issue for those using if else statements and them not going through properly. This should take care of that by fixing the ordering issue. Button Common Events has been modified so that common events will continuously run over and over if the button is held down. The Slippery Tiles plugin has been updated for those who aren’t using tilesets with their games but would still like to make use of the sliding traits.
